Today my article about the upcoming expansion to World of Warcraft made the front page of Slashdot, a popular geeky news site. It used to be that "getting Slashdotted" was a sure-fire way to cripple your site. These days, not so much. I wouldn't have even noticed if it hadn't been for my Analytics graph going all flat-line with today being a spike a couple orders of magnitude from the norm. Services like Blogger help to keep those of use who feel the urge to write up and running no matter the load. It's the primary reason I don't run my own site (well, for blogging anyway) anymore.
Perhaps this will spur me to finally get rid of my old Wiki and replace it with something run on better hardware.
