This article was written on my old blog in 2008, and may be slightly out of step with the 2009 event, but should still prove a useful reference
If you're playing WoW, and and not getting the Hallow's End (Halloween) event candy from the various inns around Azeroth and Outland, you really should! Not only is the candy really nice for stackable stat buffs (defense, hit rating (which includes spell and melee hit now), and two kinds of spellpower), but it also gives experience for every inn you get candy from. Here's how I went about collecting them all. (more...)
The new achievement system, really helps, here. If you type shift-Y you will see the achievements frame. On the left side, click on World Events and then on Hallow's End. Scroll through the various achievements and find these three items:
- Tricks and Treats of Kalimdor
- Tricks and Treats of Eastern Kingdoms
- Tricks and Treats of Outland
When you shift-click any one of these, you will get a quest-objective-like tracker on your screen that shows you what inns you have left to visit on that continent. Once you've visited all of them, you get a 10-point achievement, and there is a 20-point achievement for all three groups.
At level 50, I got 3,000 XP for each candy turnin. In Kalimdor alone there are 17 inns that give candy for the Horde, so that was 51,000 XP for a level 50 character! Better yet, at level 70 these give 3 gold, 75 silver each, which is 63 gold just for doing the Kalimdor inns!
Want even more reward? Combind this with exploring each zone, and you will get the 25-point achievements for exploring Kalimdor, Eastern Kingdoms and Outland! Of course, you will also trick-or-treat the inn masters once an hour, which will give you a wide array of cool rewards including a very nice pumpkin mini-pet!
